Nick Merico

I initially met Nick on the eve of his 21st birthday through a mutual friend. After capturing some photos of him in the studio in Miami, we promised to link up when he headed out to L.A.

A couple of months down the road and a lease recently signed with Nick's name on it, we met up and quickly created a photographer/artist bond that has solidified our friendship. Coming up with ideas for upcoming album and song releases, we've been going full force into shaping his social media with better content and high quality photos. Thus far we've traveled and gone on many adventures which have resulted in the photos below. Here are some of my favorites.

So glad to be working with Nick.

Catching Up with Alex.

Before 2016 ended, I had the opportunity to catch up with an old friend from high school. We hadn't talked much since I graduated from Full Sail, we have one of those friendships where we can not talk for months but can pick up right where we left off. Thankfully, my time in Miami allowed me to catch up with Alex and shoot some stills of him.

Here are some of my favorites.

I hope 2017 continues to see growth in my portraits.

Happy 2017.

As we ring in the new year, there is a wave that washes over me calling for a fresh start. But before I look ahead, I want to take a moment to look back at 2016. I see multitudes of growth, both professionally and personally. From earning my Masters degree, to moving across the country with my dog and my close friends, to working on movie sets, 2016 was a great launching point year for me.

As 2017 begins, I look out to this ocean of opportunity and wish nothing more than 2017 being an even better year. I hope to continue to grow as a cinematographer and a photographer. Thus far, 2017 has been great. I kicked off my year surrounded by family in Miami, FL and now i'm writing this in my best friend's living room in Atlanta, GA. I'm thankful to be able to fly and visit those who mean the most to me. In 2017, I hope to continue to travel- both locally and internationally. There is a lot of the west coast I have yet to explore and I'm yearning for the opportunity to do so.

May: The Month Of Travel

On May 6, 2016 I graduated with my Masters in Film Production at the age of 20. I’ve done some pretty crazy things, but this definitely takes the cake. I’ve never felt prouder than in that moment crossing the stage. I’m so thankful for all the professors, friends and family who supported my journey throughout my schooling. Officially an alumna of Full Sail University!

May has definitely been the month of travel. I started my month in Atlanta, visiting friends and taking photos of the countryside of Georgia. I celebrated my 21st birthday with my best friends in GA, and then left back home to Orlando for a gig and to pack for my L.A. trip.

The gig went great! Working with industry pros that gave you great feedback is what it’s all about. I thoroughly enjoyed working as a camera operator, one of the best crews I’ve been on.

L.A., my future home. I am so excited to live in a place where I can live and breathe film. It’s been a long journey to get to this moment. Visiting you for a couple days only made it feel like you were calling my name. I’m grateful for the industry contacts I got to meet and network with while I was there.

Overall, May has been a successful month for me. Thank you for the great photos, May!

Bad Magic / Life Update

This past week, I had my final classes at Full Sail University in the Film Production Masters program. Graduation is three days away and Bad Magic premieres in two days. It's been a long road for the past year. I am excited to graduate, nervous to be an adult, but more excited than ever to head out to LA.

I will miss almost all of my classmates. Within the past 12 months, i've created amazing memories with all of them. From making I Will Pay with Dani, to having Henry as my cam op, to working with Panda on A LOT of projects. Having life talks with Chris and Shun's random bursts of hilarity. All memories that make up bits of the past 12 months.

Last night, I made the first steps for LA. I am going to a career fair at the end of the month with a close friend. I am so thankful to have a family that supports my dreams.

Overall, I feel so blessed and lucky to graduate. I feel so blessed to be here. I am so thankful for all the professors who have pushed me this far. Thank you to the people who believed in me when I didn't believe in myself.

Bad Magic Update

We're a little more than a month away from the premiere of this film! Color correction and sound have been completed, now the next month will be full of sending off to festivals. Thankful for this group of people who've become like a family to me over these past couple of months!

The Walk - March Update

The Walk, A film I was the Director of Photography for, has released it's official trailer! We also have a date for the premiere of this film. It will be premiering March 24, 2016 at the Full Sail Dub stage theater. Overall, extremely excited for the release of this film!

Early 2016 Demo Reel out now!

These past couple of months have been a whirlwind of projects. From little indie shoots to bigger productions with full teams, i've been growing as a cinematographer tenfold. I want to thank every person who's gotten me this far, professors who believed in me when i didn't believe in myself and most importantly the man upstairs for giving me all these opportunities. Truly blessed. Can't wait to see what the rest of 2016 holds.
